Everyone who opens the file sees an ordinary PDF. Up to 5 hidden PDFs or notes travel inside it, each opened by its own password. Everything happens in your browser: nothing is uploaded.

How hidden is it? Hidden PDFs are strongly encrypted and invisible in normal PDF readers. They are not undetectable: the file is larger than the cover alone, and apps that re-save PDFs remove the hidden part. Send the file unchanged, as an attachment.
Your files never leave this browser.

What is a Ghost PDF?
A Ghost PDF looks and behaves like an ordinary PDF. Anyone who opens it in Adobe Reader, a browser or a phone sees only the cover document.
Inside it, up to five more PDFs or notes are stored with strong encryption. Each one has its own password, so you can share one file with several people and give each of them access to a different hidden document.
The hidden PDFs are opened on this page, in the recipient's browser. Nothing is uploaded, and PDF-Lab never sees your files or passwords.

Frequently asked questions
Can anyone tell that a PDF hides something?
Normal PDF readers show only the cover. A specialist looking at the file could notice that it is larger than its pages need. The hidden PDFs stay unreadable without their passwords.
Can I write a note instead of uploading a PDF?
Yes. Choose "Write a note" on a hidden item to type text with headings, lists and pictures, in any language. It becomes a PDF of page images inside the Ghost PDF, so its text cannot be selected or searched.
What if I forget a password?
The hidden PDF cannot be recovered. There is no reset, because the password is the only key and it is never stored anywhere.
Why did the hidden PDF disappear?
Apps that re-save or compress PDFs (some email systems, editors and messaging apps) rebuild the file and drop the hidden part. Send the Ghost PDF unchanged, as an attachment.
Does one password show the other hidden PDFs?
No. Each password opens only its own PDF, and the page never says how many PDFs are hidden.
Is anything uploaded to PDF-Lab?
No. Creating and opening Ghost PDFs happen entirely in your browser.
How large can the files be?
The cover can be up to 50 MB and each hidden PDF up to 25 MB, with 100 MB in total.
