    How to make a word search

    1. Pick a level. Easy is a 10 × 10 grid with words across and down. Medium is 13 × 13 and adds diagonals. Hard is 15 × 15, and words can also run backwards.
    2. Choose a theme, or type your own list and press Use my words.
    3. Press New puzzle until you like the layout, then press Download PDF to save it or Print to print it.

    The PDF holds only the puzzle sheets, with no menus and no advertisements. The answer page is a separate sheet, so you can hand out the puzzle on its own.

    Can I use my own word list?

    Yes. Type up to 30 words of 3 to 15 letters, using A to Z. Accents are removed, and a word that does not fit the grid is named below the buttons, so you can pick a harder level for a bigger grid.

    Are my words uploaded?

    No. The puzzle and the PDF are made in your browser, and your words are not sent to us or added to the page address.

    How do I get the same puzzle again?

    For a theme, the page address keeps the level, theme and puzzle number, so bookmarking it brings back the same puzzle. For your own words, download the PDF to keep it.

    Will it print on Letter paper?

    The PDF is A4. Most printers fit it to Letter paper if you choose "Fit to page" in the print dialog.
